Crews:
Gene / Rich / Vic; Brad / Geo / Andy; Tim / Nick / Joe: Matt
/ Pat / Greg
As is the custom in Gene's boat, especially
when Vic is there, the first fish wins a toonie pool. I was skilled
(lucky) enough to get the 1st and 2nd fish, both trout. Gene
promptly paid, but for some reason Vic wanted to make me wait,
but he finally paid back at camp.
Tim, Joe & Nick got into a good Jack
hole, and caught 30 fish (uh-huh), which kept Joe busy taking
the hook out for Nick. Tim landed a 40" Jack, which was
the eventual pool winner, way to go on the last day.
While we were trolling by the jack hole we came upon a deer swimming
in the lake, just like the caribou from earlier in the week,
as soon as their feet touch bottom they are galloping out of
the water, and it quickly disappeared.
This was our only day of rain, in the late afternoon. Tim, Joe
& Nick got caught the furthest away from camp, at Jack Hole,
and had a cold wet ride back to camp. I think Nick is catching
on to the natural order of things; he gave Uncle Tim his raincoat
while he got soaked.

For dinner that night we had Pat's chilli,
which was almost as good as his dad's; keep trying boy's you'll
get right eventually.
