and last but not least

Cookie, our cook
Hey ladies, just kidding! |
|
I picked up Joe early Saturday afternoon and
we headed over to Gene's to finish loading our gear into the
boat. The mood was one of anticipation of another great fishing
experience. Any thoughts of work or the job jar at home were
easily banished as we looked forward to a week of roughing it
in Northern Saskatchewan.
The trip was not for the faint of heart, if you wanted to be
pampered and spoiled, go to an all inclusive resort. But if you
willing to take the road less travelled, and enjoy some of the
best fishing Canada has to offer, this is the trip. We had our
first mishap early; Gene lost a bearing buddy before we reached
Bonnyville. Gene, ever the Boy Scout, had a spare, and we duct
taped the covers on to prepare for the rougher roads ahead.
As usual our first night was spent in Goodsoil, with supper at
Vic & Bev's. Bev treated us to roast beef and all the fixing's,
excellent as usual! And, then the Oilers won, 2 - 1 over the
Carolina Hurricanes! It felt strange we had hockey playoffs going
on as we began this trip, but we were glad our team had made
it this far. |
